29 જૂન, સોમવારના રોજ મોદી સરકારે 59 ચાઈનીઝ એપ્સને દેશની સુરક્ષા માટે જોખમ હોવાનું કહીને બૅન કરી દીધી હતી. ભારત-ચીન વચ્ચે સતત વધી રહેલા સીમા વિવાદ બાદથી ચાઈનીઝ એપ્સ બૅન કરવાની માગણી બુલંદ બની હતી જોકે, સરકારે ભલે 59 એપ્સ બૅન કરી હોય પરંતુ સોશિયલ મીડિયામાં સૌથી વધુ ચર્ચા તો ટિકટોકની જ થાય છે.
ટિકટોક પર પ્રતિબંધ મૂકાતા યુઝર્સમાં બે ભાગ પડી ગયા છે. એક પક્ષ કહી રહ્યો છે કે ટિકટોક જેવી એપ્સથી દેશની સુરક્ષાને જોખમ હતું અને આની પર બૅન મૂકીને સરકારે યોગ્ય કામ કર્યું છે. તો બીજો પક્ષ કહી રહ્યો છે કે ટિકટોકમાં કામ કરતા લોકોની નોકરી તથા આર્ટિસ્ટ પાસેથી પ્લેટફોર્મ લઈ લેવામાં આવ્યું છે.
